One of the only non-V8 cars HSV ever produced, one of the worst cars HSV ever produced
Maybe it’s
20/20 hindsight
, but I’d swear even in the 90s it was abundantly clear that Australia couldn’t make a small car and would pay dearly for it THE TTV6 WAS A LIE OPEN YOUR EYES SHEEPLE

Indeed...they were awful. Nissan Pulsar with a boot and some Holden and HSV badges.

Oh god. Good on you HSV.
I actually thought the XU6 was it until the Astra came along a few years back

Technically it’s a Pulsar with some Holden and HSV badges. And a mild kit.
The Pulsar could come with a boot, it’s called the Pulsar Vector :)
I think this is cool. But only in hindsight.

I sure hope so. And I hope they don’t make fun. We loved Holden we did.

I couldn’t remember the booted Pulsar’s name!
I had a 1986 Holden (Pulsar) Astra HS/E back in the early 90's. There was nothing a ‘mild kit’ or ‘a boot’ or even a HSV badge could have done to make in anything more than the glorified shit box it was. It was never cool.

Haha! Awesome. My first car was an ‘88 N13 hatch. It was shit, even a decade ago when I owned it. But I still love it so <3

That full-width rear light! I think there are a few shitty GM cars that look like these Commodores. Not educated enough to name them. Cavalier?

Ooof! You had to bring up our national shame, the chevy cavalier. That was a truly hateful vehicle. But you’re right, the refreshed Cavalier had a rear light that went across the entire vehicle.
The saddest thing about the Cavalier is that EVERYONE has driven them. Inevitably at some point in your life, circumstances will line up in such a way that you’re forced to drive a cavalier. They just will. And then you will know truer depths of mediocrity than you can possibly imagine.

Excellent. Love it. If I ever get to the states I’ll seek one out so I can bathe in the sadness
In Australia everyone’s driven a Commodore or a Falcon. They’re part of WHO WE ARE.
They
were
part of who we are.

Man. That bums me out. I’m starting to learn a ton about Australian cars these days too since we’ve started putting a ton of them in Forza.
I had a roommate/buddy that drove a 2006 Pontiac GTO, he spent thousands of dollars putting on the correct Holden front end and removing the spoiler. The car looked so much better for it as well.

I’m sure you could get them with a little spoiler in Australia. But it’s a very clean look without. Really shows off that the VT/VX was a pretty nice shape with a few little tweaks.
I was young when the Monaro came out, and I was infatuated with it.
